About the B818

The B818 is a fixed LTE Router — and position decides signal quality. Placing it near a window or on a higher floor often transforms a weak connection. Huawei Manager gives you live signal metrics to find the best spot, then locks the LTE band that is most stable at your location.

A modem locked to a weak band is the usual cause of a slow connection. Open LTE Band Lock, pick the strongest band at your location, and save. The B818 will stay on it.

Common questions

Does Huawei Manager work with the B818?

Yes. As long as the B818 exposes the classic Huawei XML API at 192.168.8.1 (the same one its admin page uses), the app can control it.

Can I lock LTE bands on the B818?

Yes, if the B818's firmware exposes the band list. Pin the strongest band at your location, or combine bands with carrier aggregation combos like B3+B1+N40.

Does SMS work on the B818?

Depends on the firmware. If the B818's API doesn't expose SMS, the app automatically hides the feature.
